Fabrizio Miccoli officially bid farewell to football in front of more than 15,000 spectators at the Stadio Renzo Barbera, where a star-studded roster of former teammates gathered for an exhibition event titled “The Last Match”.

Organized by Sikania Eventi ETS alongside the former Palermo number 10, the celebration featured an enthusiastic crowd welcoming Miccoli with sustained applause and chants. On the pitch, the former striker was joined by a formidable lineup of football veterans, including Filippo Inzaghi, Amauri, Josip Ilicic, Fabio Simplicio, Fabio Liverani, Giulio Migliaccio, Federico Balzaretti, Mattia Cassani, Cesare Bovo, Moris Carrozzieri, Dorin Goian, Salvatore Sirigu, Nuno Gomes, Valeri Bojinov, Radja Nainggolan, and Diego Maradona Junior. Actor Gianni Capaldi and Miccoli’s own son also joined the squad, which was managed from the bench by Davide Ballardini.
Match Format and Entertainment Lineup
The celebratory fixture saw Miccoli’s side face the Nazionale Artisti TV across two 35-minute halves. The sporting spectacle was complemented by a vibrant entertainment schedule, featuring pre-match performances by Pacha and Daria Biancardi, followed by a halftime set from the Italian rock band Le Vibrazioni.
Supporting the Local Community
Beyond the nostalgia and on-field reunions, the event carried a strong philanthropic mission. Organizers confirmed that a portion of the proceeds from the match will be donated to the Fondazione Falcone to fund the construction of a new multi-sport field in the Kalsa district of Palermo.
