Following Week 6 of Season 10 of Dana White’s Contender Series, UFC CEO Dana White handed out four contracts to bring new fighters onto the UFC roster. Out of five bouts on the card, four winning fighters secured deals, bringing White’s total to 28 fighters signed during Season 10 out of 30 fights.

Abdullaev and Other Main Card Contract Winners
In the lightweight division, Akbar Abdullaev knocked out Ednilson Santos in just 19 seconds by landing a massive overhand right to score the KO. The former ONE fighter backed up pre-fight hype with a jaw-dropping single punch that sent the Brazilian face-planting onto the canvas in slow motion. White offered substantial praise following the bout, calling Abdullaev the greatest talent that’s ever been on this show
according to MMA Fighting. Because Abdullaev took zero damage in the contest, analysts expect the promotion to turn him around quickly for an official Octagon debut according to Yahoo Sports.
In the welterweight main event, Mayton Perea brutally knocked out Zevan Hunt in the first round. Perea was relentless from the opening bell, dropping Hunt multiple times before a barrage of hammerfists ended the bout at 45 seconds of the first round according to MMA Fighting, earning Perea a UFC contract with the win.
Middleweight and Lightweight Finishes Secure Deals
At middleweight, Igor Cavalcanti viciously finished Oscar Ravello in the first round at 1:38 according to MMA Fighting. Cavalcanti dropped Ravello early with a straight right hand and continued to land measured punches on the canvas until the referee intervened to stop the fight, securing Cavalcanti a contract for the performance.
In another middleweight matchup, Luis Hernandez submitted Hugo Guillon in the second round with a rear-naked choke at 1:01 according to MMA Fighting. After Hernandez controlled the first round, Guillon nearly seized momentum in the second before Hernandez escaped a D’arce choke attempt, transitioned to a rear-naked choke, and forced a tapout to earn his UFC contract for the highlight-reel win.
Passed Over Prospect Given Another Opportunity
In the featherweight opening bout of the card, Tyshawn Williams defeated Antonio Monteiro via unanimous decision with judges scoring it 29-28, 29-27, and 27-27 according to MMA Fighting. The former college wrestler utilized his grappling early to secure numerous takedowns, though the high output caused him to fatigue and allowed Monteiro to tie up the match heading into the third round according to Yahoo Sports. Williams found a second wind in the final frame to drag Monteiro back to the canvas and secure the decision victory according to MMA Fighting. Although no contract was awarded immediately, Dana White informed Williams that he will receive another fight on the Contender Series to try again.
