At the XXXIII Trofeu Ciutat de Lleida, archers from the Club Esportiu Tir amb Arc Maestrat secured two gold medals during a weekend of intense competition held at the Club Tir amb Arc Pardinyes facilities in Lleida, according to regional reports. The tournament brought together 124 competitors across multiple divisions to test their precision across classic distances.
The event featured the demanding Fita series 1440 format, challenging athletes across varying ranges over two days of shooting. Saturday’s opening session saw senior men’s recurve archers test their skills at 30, 50, and 70 meters, while senior women and veteran competitors tackled 30, 50, and 60-meter distances. The competition concluded Sunday morning with long-range rounds requiring senior competitors to shoot from 90 meters and veterans from 70 meters.
Maestrat archers claim top spots in the Fita 1440 round
Representing the Club Esportiu Tir amb Arc Maestrat, Luz Altair Cid led the charge by capturing the gold medal in the senior women’s division after a dominant performance across all distances. In the veteran category, teammate Antonio López also secured a gold medal, topping the podium in his respective division. Juan Vicente Tirado finished sixth in a tightly contested senior field, while José Sebastián Cid rounded out the club’s delegation with a 15th-place finish among the veterans.
Fierce elimination rounds for “La Casita” trophy
Following the qualification rounds, the tournament transitioned to head-to-head eliminations utilizing a set-system format where the first archer to reach six points advanced. These brackets combined senior and veteran categories into unified men’s and women’s divisions, with competitors vying for the signature “La Casita” trophy—a detailed replica of a landmark building in Lleida. Luz Altair Cid advanced through the women’s elimination bracket to claim the trophy, capping off an undefeated weekend. In the men’s division, Antonio López reached the gold medal final, falling just short in a narrow 6–4 decision.
Autonomic league success in Bétera
The club’s strong form mirrors its success earlier in the season at the Trofeo Villa de Bétera, which served as the fourth and final leg of the regional outdoor league organized by the Federación de Tiro con Arco de la Comunidad Valenciana (FTACV). In that June event, Antonio López secured the senior men’s victory to mathematically lock up the overall regional league title. Luz Altair Cid won the senior women’s gold in Bétera, earning her the overall circuit silver medal and second place in the final standings. Juan Vicente Tirado added an eighth-place finish in the league’s overall senior classification.
With the Lleida competition and regional league fixtures concluded, Club Esportiu Tir amb Arc Maestrat turns its focus toward the remaining official FTACV calendar dates, including the upcoming Interprovincial Championship and the regional championship.
