Catalan pro-independence organization Assemblea Nacional Catalana (ANC) brought together all of its former presidents for a public display of unity in Barcelona, aiming to heal internal fractures and rally support for the upcoming Diada celebrations.

Two distinct factions with contrasting strategies have battled for control of the organization. One sector championed direct electoral participation through political channels, while the other argued that the grassroots entity must maintain institutional neutrality.
A Unified Front Ahead of the Diada
The ideological split led proponents of electoral battle to form a separate group named Dempeus per la Independència, while the neutralist faction retained leadership of the main association. Despite these divergent paths, leaders from both camps appeared together to issue a joint appeal for organizational unity and public mobilization for the Diada.
The gathering featured a family photograph that brought together every individual who has held the presidency of the ANC since its founding.
