Asti Judo opened its autumn calendar with intensive training sessions split between Genoa and Ostia Lido, preparing its athletes for an demanding competitive season across multiple age divisions, according to reports from SportAsti.
Genoa Training Camp and Regional Exchanges
During the first weekend of September, members of the Asti Judo competitive squad traveled to Genoa to train at the Budo Semmon Gakko gym, a facility led by Maestro Revelli. The two-day camp featured technical drills and sparring sessions alongside athletes from various clubs across the Liguria region, SportAsti reported.
The Asti delegation on the Genoa tatami included Irina Carucci, Isabella Farauanu, Edoardo Sarotto, and Alvi Alla. The athletes shared the training mats with representatives from Kumiai Torino, specifically Mario Aloise and Nicolò Monteforte. Lorenzo Aloise accompanied the group in his new role as technical collaborator, officially joining the Asti Judo coaching staff for the newly opened sports season.
Technical Seminars at the PalaPellicone in Ostia Lido
While the competitive team trained in Genoa, the club also had representation at the national judo center in Ostia Lido. According to SportAsti, the PalaPellicone hosted a specialized two-day technical update and training session for high-ranking black belts holding the 6th Dan and above.
Maria Cristina Cirillo represented Asti Judo at the national facility, participating in the advanced training program designed for high grades. Photographic coverage from the weekend documented the athletes working alongside prominent figures in Italian judo, including Olympic medalist Hanaysi Hernandez, who currently serves as coach for the Italian Under-18 national team.

Local programming in Asti restarts on Monday, September 7, at the Palazzetto dello Sport on via Gerbi. The facility hosts training sessions spanning all age brackets, ranging from introductory classes for children starting at four years old to specialized workouts tailored for youth groups, adult participants, and the senior competitive squad. The club offers introductory trial sessions for prospective participants looking to take up the sport.
