Arcieri Astarco athletes delivered a competitive weekend across Piedmont, collecting podium finishes in regional 3D events and advancing national qualification standings, according to regional sports reports. The club’s archers competed in tournaments spanning Villar Focchiardo and Venaria Reale, while simultaneously securing organizational milestones for upcoming national competitions.
Villar Focchiardo 3D Interregional Podium Finishes
Competition opened on Saturday 15, at the interregional 3D archery tournament organized by A.S.D. Arcieri Iuvenila in Villar Focchiardo (TO). Representing Astarco, Andrea Pescatori secured a hard-fought second-place silver medal in the Barebow (Arco Nudo) Over 20 category with a score of 402 points, missing the gold by a single arrow. In the Instinctive Archery (Arco Istintivo) Over 20 division, teammate Gabriele Olivero claimed a third-place finish.
Venaria Reale Round and National Rankings
Action shifted on Sunday 16, to Venaria Reale for the 70/60mt Round and 50mt Round 72-arrow interregional qualifier for the Italian Championships, hosted by A.S.D Sentiero Selvaggio. Francesca Vassarotti and Massimo Moscatiello both represented Astarco on the 70-meter shooting line. Vassarotti finished tied for first place in her category, but lost the gold medal on a tiebreaker countback when her opponent’s arrow—shot by Sara Betta of D.L.F. Voghera—scored a dead-center ten compared to Vassarotti’s ten. Despite missing the top step of the podium, Vassarotti continues climbing the national category rankings, currently sitting in 16th place. In the Senior Male Recurve (Arco Olimpico Senior Maschile) category, Massimo Moscatiello finished eighth.
Coppa Italia delle Regioni Logo Approval and Local Partnerships
Off the competition field, FITARCO Italia approved Astarco’s official logo for the upcoming Coppa Italia delle Regioni, scheduled for June 12–13. The national event will bring regional shooting delegations to the Lungo Tanaro rugby grounds. Additionally, Astarco launched a collaborative initiative with Liceo Scientifico Vercelli, pairing physical education students with Andrea Pescatori to introduce students to archery techniques.
