Agustina De Lucia Secures Silver in the Women’s 63kg Category
Fighting in front of her home crowd, local athlete Agustina De Lucia reached the final of the women’s up-to-63-kilogram division. The Rosario native advanced through the tournament bracket before facing Venezuela’s Anriquelis Barrios in the championship bout.
De Lucia ultimately finished second, claiming the silver medal. Competing directly in her home city allowed her to cap off her tournament run with a podium finish accompanied by local supporters throughout the day’s sessions.
Tovagliari and Villavicencio Claim Bronze in Men’s Divisions
In the men’s competition, Argentina added two bronze medals to the tally through determined performances in the lower weight classes. Joaquín Tovagliari earned his place on the podium in the up-to-66-kilogram division. Tovagliari secured the third-step finish by defeating Paraguay’s Mateo Ortíz in the bronze medal match.
Meanwhile, Galo Villavicencio also captured a bronze medal, competing in the up-to-60-kilogram category. Villavicencio overcame Ecuador’s Ayala in his respective third-place playoff to lock down another podium finish for the delegation.
