The 64th Italian Target Archery Championship in Canegrate saw six athletes from Arcieri Città della Paglia represent the Alessandria-based club across individual and team recurve and barebow divisions, according to local reporting.

Federico Panico Leads Individual Campaign at Italian Championships

Competing at the national tournament organized by Arcieri del Roccolo, the contingent from Alessandria delivered several notable placements in individual and team classifications. Federico Panico secured the strongest individual result for the club, finishing third in the Master division of the recurve bow category with a score of 607 points, as detailed by regional reports.

Additional individual performances at the Canegrate event included Valentina Balachia taking 15th place among the Senior recurve archers with 576 points. In the barebow division, Andrea Maggi placed 33rd among Senior competitors scoring 599 points, while Simone Maestri finished 31st in the Master category with 577 points.

Arcieri Città della Paglia also fielded a senior women’s recurve team consisting of Valentina Balachia, Silvia Ferrino, and Giulia Trombin. While the club competed nationally in Canegrate, Arcieri Città della Paglia simultaneously hosted a 25+18 meter tournament on their outdoor field in Alessandria on Saturday, September 5. The compound event saw Massimo Cortello secure first place among Master competitors with 1,124 points.

Additional podium finishes at the Alessandria grounds included Angelo Lo Forte taking second place in the Senior barebow class with 644 points during his competitive debut. Moreno Tecchiato finished sixth among the Master barebow shooters, and Alessia De Pascalis placed fourth in the Allievi recurve category.
