Table Tennis Dominance Leads the Medal Count
The university’s strongest showing came from the table tennis program, which captured three gold medals to sweep multiple brackets. The men’s team secured a gold in the tournament by winning the men’s collegiate team title. Cho Hyunkuk, a fourth-year physical education major, added an individual singles title, while teammates Kang Jinho in the third year and Nam Yunjung in the fourth year paired up to win the mixed doubles gold. The table tennis squad finished with five total medals, adding bronze finishes in the women’s collegiate team event and Nam’s individual singles campaign.
Track and Field Standouts Add Multiple Podiums
Track athlete Kwon Minju carried the university’s multi-event success on the running path. Kwon collected three silver medals across the 200-meter sprint, the 400-meter relay, and the 1,600-meter mixed relay. Additional bronze medals in the 100-meter dash and the 1,600-meter relay brought Kwon’s individual medal haul to five.
Tennis and Archery Contributions Round Out the Total
Racquet sports and target sports chipped in vital podium finishes to complete the 15-medal tally. In tennis, Yuchaemin earned a bronze medal in the women’s collegiate singles draw. The women’s tennis team of Park Yubin, Ojion, and Yum siyeon secured a third-place finish in the team competition for two total medals. Meanwhile, the archery program landed three medals: a third-place finish in the women’s team event featuring Kim Sua, Bae Yunjin, Lee Yeonwoo, and Jung Yujeong, alongside individual silver medals from Kim Sua in the women’s 70-meter event and Lee Juseong in the men’s 50-meter event.
