Racing through the streets of Copenhagen on Saturday, the 27-year-old French runner secured her first global title by fending off pre-race favorite Freweyni Hailu of Ethiopia, who finished second in 4:24.35. Guillemot maintained a strong tactical position throughout the race before launching her decisive push. Her winning time of 4:22.74 eclipsed the previous European record of 4:23.25, which had been set earlier in September by British athlete Jemma Reekie.

This world road mile crown adds to her continental accolades, which include a European indoor gold medal in the 1,500 meters won in 2025.
