The 2026 Italian ACI Karting Championship concluded its season at the Leopard Circuit Viterbo in Viterbo, Italy, crowning national champions across multiple competitive categories after five intense rounds spanning Lonato, La Conca, Sarno, Val Vibrata, and finally Viterbo.
Viterbo Finale Crowns 2026 Champions
The fifth and final round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship solidified the 2026 season’s standings at the Leopard Circuit Viterbo. Competition remained fierce throughout the calendar, running from the KZ2 class down to the federal OK-N and OK-NJ categories, as well as the youth MINI Gr.3 and Under 10 divisions. Nearly all category titles came down to the wire in Viterbo, with the lone exception being the MINI Gr.3 Under 10 class, where American driver Zayne Burgess of Parolin Motorsport had already secured the crown during the previous round at Val Vibrata.
Record-Breaking International Turnout
Organizers recorded absolute high marks in participation across the five-stop tour, drawing 644 unique drivers representing 57 nations. Across all verified sessions, the championship logged 1,532 total verified driver entries and 1,628 total registrations, averaging over 300 drivers per event. Adding prestige to the Viterbo paddock, newly appointed ACI Karting Commission President Riccardo Patrese attended the event. The former Formula 1 driver and Italian Automobile Club ambassador focused his visit on supporting grassroots motorsport development and youth driver training.
KZ2 Title Secured Despite Dramatic Final Crash
The KZ2 class delivered high drama immediately when championship leader Daniel Vasile of Romania crashed out shortly after the start. Starting from pole position with Federico Racing on a Maranello chassis powered by a TM Kart, Vasile was forced to retire from the final. Nevertheless, his earlier victory in the Prefinale, combined with closest rival Kimi Tani finishing no higher than sixth place, secured the 2026 KZ2 title for Vasile with 220 points over Tani’s 211.
The unexpected race victory went to Alessandro Zallocco aboard a Birelart chassis, who completed the laps ahead of Angelo Lombardo and Davide Forè. In the concurrent KZ2 Master classification, Davide Forè captured the overall championship title with 241.5 points, fending off Lombardo and Antonio Piccioni. Meanwhile, Kimi Tani clinched the KZ2 Under 18 title with 284 points despite a difficult final race, while Mark Zvarich claimed victory in the Under 18 final race itself.

The championship standings accounted for each driver’s best eight scores accumulated across the Prefinales and Finals of the five scheduled events. The weekend’s Prefinale winners established early momentum across the classes:
