The 2026 SF Group nationwide basketball tournament finals officially opened on September 11 at the Tianjin Dongli Sports Center Gymnasium, bringing together ten elite teams for three days of intense competition, according to regional news reports.
Ten Elite Teams Converge in Tianjin
Operating under the core theme “Fight Together, Win Together,” this year’s tournament marks the fourth edition of the nationwide competition, following previous events in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Tianjin. Throughout August, nearly 1,000 couriers, city riders, and operational personnel participated in regional qualifiers across five major divisions—Headquarters, Central-West, East China, North China, and South China—spanning 53 original teams.
Ten teams successfully advanced through the 53-team field to reach the Tianjin finals: the SF Express / O-Line / Enterprise Development Office Joint Team (Borderless Comrades Team), Smart Supply Chain (Smart Chain Lingyun Team), Liaoning Division (Liaoning Team), Tianjin Division (Jinmen Leopards Team), Shanghai Division (Modu Dream Team), North Zhejiang Division (Qiantang Storm Team), East Guangdong Division (Yuedong Dengfeng Team), West Guangdong Division (Yuexi Elite Team), West China Dispatching Division (West China Sharp Blade Team), and Chongqing Division (Yufeng Team).
Opening Ceremony Blends Technology and Tradition
The opening ceremony commenced at 9:00 a.m. local time on September 11 at the Dongli Sports Center. A laser show and holographic projection illuminated the arena, displaying highlights from the regional qualifiers, including defensive drills, buzzer-beaters, and team celebrations.
Following the athlete and referee oath-taking ceremonies, SF Group Assistant CEO and Chief Human Resources Officer Zhou Hai强 officially declared the finals open amid fireworks and light displays. The cultural program featured traditional Tianjin intangible cultural heritage elements paired with modern performances. Xue Yijiang performed the Jingyun drum song “SF Song,” while clay sculptor Guo Yinchun demonstrated traditional “Clay Zhang” figurine crafting techniques, highlighting the organization’s dual focus on speed and craftsmanship.
Additional entertainment included a Tianjin kuaiban rap performance delivered by courier Tian Yang and local teammates, alongside a routine performed by the North China Customer Service Center cheerleading squad.
Tournament Kickoff
Immediately following the opening performances, the host Tianjin Division Jinmen Leopards squared off against the SF Express / O-Line / Enterprise Development Office Joint Team in the tournament’s opening fixture. The three-day event will determine which of the ten finalists claims the championship trophy at the Dongli venue.
