Following two consecutive days in full pads and full contact, head coach Mike Macdonald’s squad dialed back to helmets and shoulder pads for a heavy dose of situational 11-on-11 work.
Passing Attack Highlights and Quarterback Depth
Darnold engineered several explosive plays through the air, hitting Arroyo for a long touchdown pass, connecting with Rashid Shaheed for another score, and dropping a precise throw down the right sideline that Jaxon Smith-Njigba hauled in with a toe-tapping catch.
Behind the starting unit, Drew Lock demonstrated the arm talent that made him a second-round pick in 2019. Lock capped a sharp touchdown drive with a back-shoulder throw to receiver Tory Horton, later hitting Horton again over the middle for another score, connecting with Irv Charles for a touchdown, and floating a well-placed pass to Emanuel Wilson for a big gain.
Meanwhile, second-year quarterback Jalen Milroe continued working primarily with the third team. Milroe logged a notable practice earlier in the week during a session that drew praise from veteran teammate Cooper Kupp.
“He’s doing a great job. I think that first year there’s a lot happening, the amount of thinking that is going on. I think he’s settled into that a little and is letting it rip, which is awesome. He’s letting some balls go with anticipation that he wasn’t last year. It’s been pretty cool to see.”

Backfield Competition Shifts as Roster Cuts Take Shape
The running back room underwent a notable reconfiguration when Seattle waived running back Kenny McIntosh after he opened camp on the physically unable to perform list while continuing his rehabilitation from a torn ACL that wiped out his 2025 season.
With Kenneth Walker III now with the Kansas City Chiefs and Zach Charbonnet recovering from an ACL injury sustained in the playoff divisional round, the backfield workload has tilted toward newcomer Emanuel Wilson, veteran George Holani, and first-round draft pick Jadarian Price.
Price has drawn consistent first-team reps while showcasing unexpected versatility as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.
“He’s caught a lot of passes. I think there’s some variety to the things he can do out of the backfield. Again, we’ll see. But right now there’s not a lot of things that you’re checking off that he can’t do or that you think he can’t do, so that’s exciting. There’s a lot of opportunity out there.”

Interior Protection Scrutiny and Blue Angels Visit
Away from the field, Saturday’s practice missed its scheduled Blue Angels flyover due to high winds, though players spent time interacting with the pilots earlier in the week during Seafair Weekend.
“You definitely notice them… a win-lose situation. It sucks they couldn’t fly over today, but at the same time, it’s pretty nice having a breeze out at practice for two-and-a-half hours.”
