“In the summer, I talked to Šilovs and told him—there is no need to be afraid of a one-year contract,” Vītoliņš stated regarding roster management and professional certainty.

“In life, you don’t have to be afraid of whether you have a one-year or multi-year contract,” he said, adding that shorter-term arrangements foster an extra layer of competitive drive.
