Heinz is turning the 57th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft into a branded moment with the launch of its “Mr. 57” campaign, tying the milestone to the company’s 157th anniversary and its iconic use of the number “57” on ketchup bottles for over a century.
The campaign, announced ahead of the draft’s first round on April 24, 2026, in Pittsburgh, will honor the player selected 57th overall with a lifetime supply of Heinz Ketchup, a custom “Mr. 57” jacket featuring miniature Heinz bottle-shaped sleeve buttons, and an opportunity to form a brand partnership with the company.
Heinz is teaming up with Devin Hester, the former 57th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, to launch the initiative. Hester, a Pro Bowl return specialist and Super Bowl XLI champion, will serve as the campaign’s inaugural ambassador, helping welcome the first “Mr. 57” at this year’s draft.
“As a former 57th pick, I recognize firsthand how much that number can mean,” Hester said in a statement released by Heinz. “Heinz has turned ‘57’ into an icon through its own legacy, and it’s powerful to see that same number elevated on one of the biggest nights in football. Hearing your name called on Draft day is a moment you carry for life, so it’s an honor to welcome the first ‘Mr. 57.’”
The “Mr. 57” campaign is rooted in Heinz’s long-standing branding, which has featured the number “57” since the late 1800s. Though often interpreted as a reference to the company’s product lines, Heinz has stated the number was chosen by founder Henry J. Heinz for its psychological appeal, combining his lucky number (5) and his wife’s (7).
This year’s campaign also coincides with the 57th Super Bowl (Super Bowl LVII), which Heinz previously acknowledged through a separate marketing effort titled “LVII Meanz 57,” designed to clarify the Roman numeral for consumers. That initiative included limited-edition ketchup labels and a social media push using the hashtag #LVIIMeanz57.
For the NFL Draft activation, Heinz is partnering with Uber Eats to offer fans a $25 discount on orders from Heinz-certified restaurants beginning the moment the 57th pick is announced. The promotion will be available through the campaign’s official website, which lists participating dining locations nationwide.
The 57th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft currently belongs to the Chicago Bears, who hold the selection via a trade involving the Carolina Panthers. The Bears originally acquired the pick in a 2023 deal that sent wide receiver Chase Claypool to Pittsburgh.
Heinz, headquartered in Pittsburgh and a long-time official condiment partner of the NFL, said the “Mr. 57” tradition will continue in future drafts, creating a recurring highlight that celebrates both football heritage and brand longevity.
The company emphasized that the campaign is not merely promotional but symbolic, aiming to connect the cultural weight of the NFL Draft with Heinz’s own story of innovation and consistency over 157 years.
As the NFL Draft approaches, all eyes will be on the stage in Pittsburgh when the clock hits the 57th selection — not just for the team making the pick, but for the player who may become the first official “Mr. 57” in Heinz’s evolving football legacy.
