Beşiktaş Coach Dusan Alimpijevic Speaks Ahead of EuroCup Final Game 1

Beşiktaş GAİN head coach Dusan Alimpijevic addressed the media ahead of the Basketball Champions League EuroCup final series opener against JL Bourg Basket, emphasizing the need to reset and focus entirely on the upcoming challenge.

Speaking after the team’s final training session at the Beşiktaş GAİN Sports Complex, Alimpijevic stressed that past results no longer matter as the club prepares for Game 1 of the EuroCup finals.

“We have to forget everything that happened in the past and approach this game with complete seriousness and a different level of focus,” Alimpijevic said. “We must forget the previous two games because they are behind us. Now a new war is starting.”

The Serbian coach highlighted the advantage of playing at home in front of the passionate Beşiktaş supporters at the Akatlar Arena, noting how the atmosphere created by the fans provides extra energy and motivation for the team.

“Definitely, it has a strong effect. Most of our fans carry their passion from football to basketball. This brings us extra energy, emotion and passion. We really enjoy playing in Akatlar,” Alimpijevic added.

Regarding team availability, Alimpijevic confirmed that all players are ready for the final except for Mouhammadou Jaiteh, who is sidelined due to a knee injury.

“Right now, everyone except Jaiteh is available. Jaiteh won’t be in the roster because of his knee injury. Everyone else is ready. Sertaç Şanlı joined us after our last Tofaş game and is in good shape for the final,” the coach explained.

Alimpijevic, who was named EuroCup Coach of the Year in both 2022 and 2026, expressed confidence in his squad’s preparation despite refusing to disclose specific game plans.

“I can’t reveal our plan here, but we have the necessary tools. We came here with confidence. Every member of the club knows what is expected of us. We will take it game by game and reach our goal,” he stated.
