FC Bayern Munich stages incredible comeback against Mainz 05

This result adds to a dramatic matchday in German football, which also saw VfL Wolfsburg secure a 3-1 away win over 1. FC Heidenheim thanks to second-half goals from substitutes Mattias Svanberg and Mohamed Amoura. In that match, Wolfsburg overcame an early deficit to claim all three points on the road, with Svanberg heading in a cross from Maximilian Arnold and Amoura converting a late penalty.

Meanwhile, in another Bundesliga fixture, Wolfsburg and Heidenheim played to a 1-1 draw in a previous encounter at the Volkswagen Arena, where Adrian Beck gave Heidenheim the lead before Moritz Jenz equalized for Wolfsburg late in the game.
