MIAMI – Karolína Muchová’s impressive start to the 2026 season continues unabated. The Czech player reached her first Miami Open semifinal, defeating Victoria Mboko 7-5, 7-6(5) in a tightly contested quarterfinal match on Tuesday. Muchová had a chance to break early in the second set, but Mboko erased the threat with strong serving. The momentum then shifted, and Muchová found herself needing to dig deep. The world No. 14 battled back from 0-30 down on her serve to level the set at 1-1.

This marks the fifth time Muchová has reached the semifinal stage of a WTA 1000 event, boasting a strong 3-1 record in these situations. “I just tried to stay focused and stay aggressive,” Muchová said in her on-court interview. “It was very close, basically one point at the end. Anything can change in tennis. I’m just very grateful I was able to win the last point.”
