A Warm Welcome Back: Membership Already at 30
The revival of the club comes after a period of inactivity that local residents felt keenly. “This pause created a void in the village, as table tennis is a very popular sport,” explained Patrick Carron and Olivier Carreras, the driving forces behind the club’s re-establishment. “Within just a few days, we already have around thirty members. Our goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere and open the doors to everyone – from children accompanied by their parents, though we currently lack dedicated instructors for youth training, to seniors. Everyone can find a place here, regardless of their ability.”
Carron and Carreras emphasized their commitment to building on the legacy established by Christian Maurel. They have several projects in the works, including potential collaborations with local schools and the organization of training camps. The club aims to foster a sense of community and provide opportunities for players to enjoy the sport at all levels.
Regular Training Sessions Ahead of Annual General Meeting
Training sessions, currently conducted as friendly matches, are held four times a week at the Garons sports hall. The schedule is as follows:
- Monday: 8:15 PM – 10:00 PM
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- Wednesday: 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM
- Friday: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
A symbolic membership fee of just €2 is currently being collected to participate in these sessions, valid until June 30th. “This amount is purely symbolic,” Carron and Carreras noted. “We will determine the membership fee for the upcoming season during our annual general meeting on June 20th.”
