Women’s Volleyball Falls to League Leaders
The CUS Verona women’s volleyball team suffered a setback in their pursuit of promotion, falling to Primavera Buttapietra in a decisive match for the top spot in Prima Divisione Group B. Buttapietra secured a clean 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-13, 26-24), extending their lead to six points with just four games remaining in the season. According to reports, Buttapietra remains undefeated, proving a formidable opponent for the CUS Verona team. While the CUS Verona squad put up a fight in the first and third sets, they were unable to overcome the strength of the league leaders.
Men’s Volleyball Secures Comeback Win
In a contrasting result, the CUS Verona men’s volleyball team achieved a thrilling comeback victory on the road against Caprino. After trailing by two sets, the team rallied to win 3-2 (25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 7-15). This win brings their season record to an even 9-9, balancing their overall performance.
Hockey in Line Faces Tough Competition
The CUS Verona hockey in line team battled valiantly in their Qualification Round match against Libertas Forlì, despite facing numerous absences and a depleted roster. They held their own for over a period before ultimately falling 4-1. Forlì opened the scoring with a goal from former CUS Verona player Bernardoni, but Perini quickly responded for CUS Verona, scoring his 14th goal of the season. However, Ustigani, another former CUS Verona player, scored twice for Forlì in the second period and Carli sealed the victory. Despite the loss, the team has secured their place in the playoffs and achieved their primary goal of avoiding relegation.

The Serie C team, however, faced a more challenging weekend, suffering defeats against Cus Padova Barbafighto (15-0) and ExtraFut (15-12). They currently sit in fifth place in their group with four points.
