Binh Minh School Sports Tournament 2025-2026 Promotes Student Fitness & Talent Discovery

Binh Minh commune recently hosted a vibrant student sports tournament for the 2025-2026 school year, celebrating both athletic achievement and civic engagement. The event, held as part of the celebrations surrounding the successful election of representatives to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, underscored the community’s commitment to youth development and physical fitness.

The tournament saw students from primary and secondary schools across Binh Minh commune compete in three disciplines: table tennis, badminton and athletics. The atmosphere was described as lively and spirited, with enthusiastic support from teachers, students, and community members alike. This event isn’t just about competition. it’s about fostering a sense of community and shared pride.

Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, Vice Chairwoman of the Binh Minh Commune People’s Committee, attended the tournament to offer encouragement to the young athletes. Her presence highlighted the local government’s dedication to promoting sports and physical activity among students. The tournament also aligns with a broader national initiative to encourage physical activity, echoing the call to “All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh.”

According to Nguyen Van Them, Director of the Binh Minh Commune General Service Center, the organization of the tournament was meticulously planned to ensure safety, fairness, and integrity. “Favorable conditions were created for athletes to compete, interact with each other, and learn from one another,” Them stated. This emphasis on a positive and supportive environment is crucial for nurturing young talent and instilling a lifelong love of sports.

Beyond providing a platform for physical training and skill development, the tournament aims to cultivate a passion for sports, promote resilience, and instill perseverance in students. It also serves as a foundation for identifying and selecting talented athletes who may go on to represent Binh Minh commune at higher levels of competition. This grassroots approach to talent identification is vital for the continued growth of sports within the region.

The success of the tournament also supports the implementation of Vietnam’s Strategy for the Development of Physical Education and Sports through 2030, with a vision towards 2045, within the education sector. This national strategy emphasizes the importance of integrating physical activity into the school curriculum and promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people.

Following a period of exciting and engaging competition, the Binh Minh commune secondary school sports tournament for the 2025-2026 school year concluded successfully. Organizers presented first, second, and third-place awards to the athletes who achieved the best results, further contributing to the promotion of physical education and sports among students in the region. The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of investing in youth sports and fostering a culture of physical activity within the community.

Binh Minh commune’s commitment to student athletics extends beyond this single tournament. Earlier this year, on March 18th, the commune launched a “bright – green – clean – beautiful” emulation campaign, linking it to International Happiness Day (March 20th) and Earth Hour 2026. This holistic approach, encompassing environmental sustainability and community well-being alongside athletic development, demonstrates a forward-thinking vision for the future of Binh Minh.

Looking ahead, residents of Binh Minh commune are encouraged to participate in Earth Hour on March 28, 2026, by turning off unnecessary electrical devices between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM local time (UTC+7). This initiative underscores the importance of energy conservation and responsible environmental stewardship.
