2026 Italian Indoor Archery Championships: Rome to Host 1300+ Archers

Rome is preparing to welcome over 1,300 archers for the 2026 Italian Indoor Archery Championships, scheduled to take place at the Nuova Fiera di Roma from February 26th to March 1st. This marks a significant move for the event, which previously spent ten years in Rimini and the last two in Pordenone. The competition will feature athletes across recurve, compound, and barebow disciplines, including Italy’s national team members fresh off a successful showing at the European Indoor Championships in Bulgaria, where they secured first place in the medal table with 21 podium finishes.

The event is being organized by REPAC, a group with extensive experience in international archery events, including the 2018 and 2019 Roma Archery Trophy, as well as recent editions of the Para-Archery Cup and European Para-Archery Championships. Their expertise will be crucial in managing an event expected to draw over 3,000 attendees – athletes, coaches, and support staff – over four days.

Strong support from the Italian Ministry for Sport and Youth, the patronage of Roma Capitale, and the commitment of the Department of Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion have all contributed to bringing this major archery event to the Eternal City. Rome will also host the European Paralympic Championships from April 28th to May 3rd, and the European Youth Championships from July 20th to 26th in 2026, solidifying its position as a key destination for international archery.

The championships, also supported by the Lazio Region and Sport e Salute, will utilize two halls within the Fiera di Roma. Hall 8 will be dedicated to the 60-arrow qualification rounds that determine the bracket for head-to-head matches, as well as the elimination phases, and will also house exhibitor stands. Hall 7 will serve as the final arena, featuring seating, a food court, and practice ranges for athletes to prepare.

Navigating the Nuova Fiera di Roma: Entry, Parking, and Amenities

Access to the Fiera di Roma and the competition halls is exclusively through the North Entrance (Via Portuense 1645-1647). Parking is available for 5 euros per day, with a free shuttle service running between the parking area and the halls. A valuable perk for attendees: presenting your parking ticket at accreditation will grant you complimentary access to the practice ranges and free bow storage.

For those looking to hone their skills, two practice ranges will be available in Hall 7. Access to the ranges requires a 5 euro fee per shooting station, obtainable at accreditation. Again, presenting a parking ticket at accreditation will provide a free practice range pass and complimentary bow storage.

Practice range hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday, February 25th: 2:00 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Thursday, February 26th: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
