Young Archery Referee | Calista Sentosa’s Oath

The oath ceremony is a solemn moment for our sport, it places values at the center of the debates. Even if there are not too many disputes, the referee fulfills a regulatory role during competitions. underlines Didier Sans, president of the Archers Quévénois, on the occasion of the Brittany youth archery championship.

Calista Sentosa, student in 2e year of SVT license, has been practicing archery at the club since he was 12. Refereeing immediately attracted me, I felt that learning the rules would help me progress as a player; I started my referee training at 17. This weekend was my first refereeing in competition, a different situation from the game. We are in another role.

The young representative had to assimilate the regulations. I discovered many interesting points there that we don’t approach as an archer. Now I have to give my availability to Marie-Pierre Rogue(commission d’arbitrage) who will call on me to referee federal level tournaments. For the moment I will be refereeing English target competitions(colored targets) ; later, when I have gained experience and maturity, I will be able to train on other options: nature shooting, 3D shooting, etc.

Didier Sans is proud of his commitment We would like to train new referees.
