The return of NHL players, the prestigious American ice hockey league, is panicking the crowds. For the first time since 2014, the world’s best players have been allowed to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, attracting many fans. The discipline is thus the most requested in terms of ticketing, as the organizers announced this Monday.
In total, 1.2 million tickets were sold for these Olympic and Paralympic Games. With just three days until the Opening Ceremony, and on the eve of the first curling matches, this represents approximately 75% of capacity for these Games. Many tickets therefore remain on sale and could find buyers once the competition begins.
Finish the works of the Sand
With an impressive field of stars, ice hockey is the most popular sport. This is followed by the biathlon, which will be contested in Antholz-Anterselva, and cross-country skiing. The organization also announced a promotion for the first days of competition before the opening ceremony, with two tickets for the price of one.
If the success of ice hockey is excellent news, the organizers will have to hurry to complete the work on the Arena Santagiulia. The enclosure required “more work” on Sunday to ensure everything was perfect before the first meeting between the France team and Italy on Thursday. “No one’s experience will be ruined if there is anything left to paint or carpet after the competitions, let’s be very clear,” said Christophe Dubi, executive director of the Games.
