The VfL Sindelfingen from the national football league, season II, is continuing to push forward with his squad planning for the coming season. The commitments started some time ago the two captains made.
The club has now announced four further contract extensions via its social media accounts:
- André Simão
- Felix Dreher
- David Weinhardt
- Rion Gashi
VfL Sindelfingen is working on further contract extensions
André Simão has been an integral part of the first team since 2018 and is now entering his ninth season with VfL, to whom he has always remained loyal. The 27-year-old has long been one of the top performers. He enjoyed his football training in Sindelfingen, where he also lives.
“I feel very comfortable here and would like to take on responsibility so that VfL can be successful again in terms of sport,” said Simao, explaining his decision to extend his contract. “It quickly became clear to me that I wanted to remain part of this path.” Be new coach Thomas Siegmund adds: “André brings enormous quality and mentality. He can carry a team.”
Felix Dreher will also stay with the blue and whites. The defensive specialist is currently out of action after tearing his cruciate ligament. Although he can no longer take part in the current season, it quickly became clear to both sides that he would stay.
“The return was a real coming home for me,” he says Transfer from SV Fellbach last summer to. “Even though I can’t help the team at the moment, I’m working hard on my comeback and look forward to being back on the pitch soon.” Coach Siegmund emphasizes his importance: “With his experience and presence, he will play an important role.”
David Weinhardt, who has now fully recovered from a ruptured Achilles tendon, is already one step further than Dreher in the test games against Ergenzingen (3:1) and Reutlingen (2:4) was already involved again.
“I felt like I was in very good hands here at all times, especially during my injury,” nods Weinhardt. “There is a lot more to this team than we have shown so far – we want to build on that.” The sporting directors Bastian Bothner and Thomas Dietsche speak about Weinhardt’s performance before his serious injury: “David showed what added value he offers to our team.”
According to the club’s press release, an important building block for the future is Whereabouts of Rion Gashi. The 20-year-old is one of the youngest in the squad, but in the eyes of those responsible he still has football maturity. “Rion has enormous qualities on the ball and an understanding of the game that is exceptional for his age,” explains Siegmund. “Its development is far from complete.” Gashi himself formulates clear ambitions: “The group is intact and we are convinced that we will achieve our potential.”
