UFA to Infantino: Russia Ban Lift Concerns

The Ukrainian Football Association turned to Infantino after he said about lifting the ban from Russia

The Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) responded to the words of the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Gianni Infantino about the possible lifting of the ban from Russia. Earlier, the functionary said that the ban on the participation of Russians did not achieve anything, and also called for consideration of the country’s return to international competitions.

The UAF called on Infantino not to change the position of the football authorities on the exclusion of Russians from football competitions. The association’s official statement said that the potential reintegration of any Russian national teams would jeopardize the security and integrity of the competition. The statement also questions Infantino’s words that suspension from participation in competitions is not an effective method of putting pressure on Russia.

The Russian national team has been suspended from all international competitions since 2022. Russian clubs also do not take part in international tournaments under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA.
