The mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, proposed this Monday the remodeled Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona as the venue for the 2030 World Cup final which will be jointly organized by Spain, Portugal and Morocco: “Barcelona has always had a great ambition to host major events, in July the Grand Departure of the Tour de France and I told President Louzán that we are prepared and we would be very excited to host the 2030 World Cup final, at the Camp Nou.”
Collboni made these statements on the stage of the gala for the 120th anniversary of the newspaper ‘Mundo Deportivo’, where he was accompanied by the Minister of Sports of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Berni Álvarez, and highlighted the “great organizational capacity” of the Catalan capital to host an event of this size: “I hear Mr. Louzán say that the grand final will be in Spain and I firmly believe that we can do it in Barcelona“The best city in the world,” claimed the mayor.

The mayor has also assured that he has already discussed the proposal with Barcelona and its president, Joan Laporta, and has recalled that, after its remodeling, The Barça stadium will reach an approximate capacity of 105,000 spectators in 2030thanks to the construction of the new third tier and the roof.
