Team Wranå: Curling Semi-Final Bound | Olympics Update

The conditions were clear for Sweden’s final group stage match. Victory against the USA – or a Swiss loss against Norway in the parallel match – would send Lag Wranå to the Olympic semi-finals in curling’s mixed doubles.

And just like the meeting with Canada, the match against the USA was an even story.

Before the final round, the score was 7–7 – but the USA decided in the final round and won 8–7.

In connection with the end of the last round, the Americans showed strong emotions, something that is rarely seen in a curling context.

Got help from Norway

After the match was over, the Wranå siblings got to follow the dramatic match between Norway and Switzerland. Thanks to the Norwegian victory (6–3), the Swedish team was able to secure a semi-final place.

– It is absolutely incredible. We stand and cannot take our eyes off their course. It feels incredible, says Rasmus Wranå to SVT Sport.

The semi-final awaits already tomorrow evening. The opposition will be clear on Monday, after the last group stage matches have been completed.

– It’s great fun. I am very proud of the journey we made. I’m super charged, says Isabella Wranå.
