One control can hide another for Jannik Sinner. The world number 2 is not one of the athletes competing in the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics since tennis is of course not one of the winter disciplines, but he participated a little in his own way on Thursday in Milan’s central station.
Suspended three months last year after testing positive twice for clostebol, a banned substance, in March 2024, the 24-year-old Italian is once again in a control operation, but of a completely different kind.

On the eve of the opening ceremony, Jannik Sinner joined in the fun by stamping tickets for a rather special train dressed all in orange, alongside another Italian sports star, Beatrice Vio, double Paralympic fencing champion (2016 and 2020), megaphone in hand.
A color chosen not to pay homage to the player’s red hair but rather by Nike as part of the launch of its outdoor brand AFC in collaboration with the running application Strava. As you will have understood, this train did not welcome any passengers, but the advertising operation had the gift of attracting curious people to the Milanese station to visit the interior of the converted locomotive.
According to the Italian press, Jannik Sinner will however not attend the opening ceremony this Friday evening to concentrate on his next ATP 500 tournament scheduled for February 16 to 21 in Doha, where he will land on Monday.
