La salma di Carlo Acutis preserved at Assisi
San Carlo Acutis “arrives” in the Sorrento Peninsula: his relics, in fact, will be exhibited to the faithful from 7 to 10 February in a series of events which are expected to attract people from all over Campania. His sacred remains will arrive on Saturday 7 February, when at 5.15pm there will be first mass and then prayer at the church dedicated to the Madonna della Salute which stands next to the convent of the Minimi Friars of San Francesco di Paola, a hamlet of the Municipality of Massa Lubrense.
The following day, Sunday 8 February, there will be the Eucharistic celebration presided over byarchbishop of Sorrento-Castellammare di StabiaMonsignor Francesco Alfano. Following this there will be the possibility of venerating the relics until midday, while at 6pm there will be an exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. On Monday 9 February there will be a visit of the relic of the pericardium to the sick, while in the afternoon, at 7pm, Father Federico Rubino, rector of the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Pozzano in Castellammare di Stabia will preside over the mass, before a documentary dedicated to him. The peregrinatio will end on Tuesday 10 February, when in the morning the relic of the pericardium will be taken to the sick and to the religious institutes of the area and finally at 6pm there will be mass celebrated by Don Salvatore Savarese, parish priest of the former Cathedral church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Massa Lubrense. San Carlo Acutis is also known as “the Saint of the Internet”, as well as the first Millennial Saint: born on 3 May 1991, he died at just 15 years old on 12 October 2006, and was then beatified by Pope Francis on 10 October 2020, before the canonization which took place last 7 September by Pope Leo XIV.
