(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Bae Jin-nam = The 12 members of the Korean national team who will participate in the final qualifiers for the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Women’s Basketball World Cup have been confirmed.

The Korea Basketball Association announced on the 4th that it has selected and confirmed the final 12 players in preparation for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup final qualifying round.

According to the association, the first adult women’s basketball performance improvement committee held the day before decided on the national team roster to participate in the final World Cup qualifiers, with national team coach Park Soo-ho and coach Yang Ji-hee in attendance.

This final list includes many key players who have consistently played for the national team, including Park Ji-hyun (Tocomana, New Zealand), Park Ji-soo, Kang I-seul, Heo Ye-eun (KB), Lee Hae-ran (Samsung Life Insurance), and Ahn Hye-ji (BNK).

In addition, Sohee Lee (BNK) and Jinan (Hana Bank), who were excluded from the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup due to injury, rejoined the national team.

Park So-hee (Hana Bank), who has led her team’s recent upward trend, was also named to the final list.

The women’s national basketball team is scheduled to convene at the Jincheon Athletes’ Village in North Chungcheong Province on the 26th and begin training in earnest before departing for France, where the tournament will be held, on March 7.

In the final World Cup qualifiers to be held from March 11 to 17, local time, Korea will compete in Group B with Colombia, the Philippines, Germany, France, and Nigeria.

After five group stage matches, the top two teams, excluding Germany (the host country of the World Cup) and Nigeria (the winner of the 2025 Forward Basket), will advance to the World Cup finals to be held in Berlin, Germany in September.
