Win against Orlando: Isaiah Hartenstein scores triple-double
Isaiah Hartenstein recorded a triple-double for the first time in his NBA career. His Oklahoma City Thunder clearly defeated the Orlando Magic around Moritz Wagner and Tristan da Silva.
Isaiah Hartenstein has reached a special milestone in the NBA. The German basketball player achieved a triple-double, i.e. double-digit values in three categories, for the first time in his eight-year career in the North American basketball league. The 27-year-old had twelve points, ten rebounds and ten assists in his Oklahoma City Thunder’s 128:92 (68:41) home win against the Orlando Magic.
Hartenstein completed the triple-double seven minutes before the end of the game when he secured his tenth rebound. “He directs the offense, he rebounds, he does all the little things that we were missing when he was injured,” teammate Isaiah Joe said of Hartenstein. “He posted a triple-double – that’s not everyday for a player like him. He’s just so good at what he does.”
The Thunder dominated the first quarter 39:14 and opened up a difference of up to 38 points. After the 40th win in the 51st game of the season, the defending champion remains the undisputed leader of the Western Conference. For the Magic, Moritz Wagner scored eight points, Tristan da Silva didn’t get more than three points. Franz Wagner missed his seventh game in a row with an ankle injury. Because of this, the winger had to sit out for over a month before the NBA game in Berlin.
Ariel Hukporti scores a career high
Ariel Hukporti also played a special game. The New York Knicks’ German center scored double figures for the first time in his two-year NBA career. Hukporti recorded twelve points and nine rebounds in the 132:101 (72:45) away win against the Washington Wizards. The Knicks dominated the game from the start and clinched their seventh win in a row.
The Los Angeles Lakers around the two superstars LeBron James and Luka Doncic achieved a clear 125:109 (69:40) away win against the Brooklyn Nets. After the first quarter the guests were already 22 points ahead. James and Doncic scored 49 points together, the Lakers were happy about the return of Austin Reaves: The US international was back on the floor for the first time after recovering from a calf strain and missing 19 games and recorded 15 points. The German basketball player Maxi Kleber only played for three minutes and didn’t score.
