9:35 a.m. Two defeats for Genovéfa judokas
On mat n°1, Quentin Joubert, selected at the last minute following the withdrawal of Arnaud Aregba, suffered the sode-tsuri-komi-goshi of the American Dominic Rodriguez. On mat n°4, Kaila Issoufi, in -78kg, was rolled up by the very powerful makikomi of the Dutch Guusje Steenhuis. A very large and lethal movement while the Frenchwoman, very constant on the international circuit for several months, had been penalized twice.
09:30. -81kg: Hojo stronger than Dvalashvili
He is the one who beat the new king of -81kg, the Russian Timur Arbuzov during the Grand Slam in Tokyo. In bronze during this event Yoshito Hojo also dominated the Georgian Zaur Dvalashvili. Again this Sunday with a perfectly glued o-ichi-gari from Nippon for this first round which could very well have been a semi-final or even a final. A Japanese to follow this Sunday.
09:25. Find the reaction of Shirine Boukli, in gold yesterday in -48kg
9:20 a.m. Tolofua continues, Saparbev stops
On mat n°1, Julia Tolofua (ESBM Judo), French champion in mid-December in +78kg beats the Brazilian Giovanna Santos, 25 years old and 57th in the world after a third place at the Mexican Grand Prix last October, on a ko-soto-gari counted yuko and scored in the first minute.
On mat no. 3, Khamzat Saparbaev (Arts Martial Saint-Gratien) lost on penalties against the Georgian Saba Inaneishvili, third at the Croatian Grand Prix last September and fifth in Paris last year.
09:00. -100kg: Mekhoukh with style
Quickly led by a yuko by a Tajik adversary, the reigning French champion, licensed to PSG Juso, turned the tide in style with a second decisive yuko scored in the golden score on a circular uchi-mata. Stunning.
09:00. -78kg: Tcheuméo starts well
Facing the Mongolian Khuslen Otgonbayar, 3rd in the 2024 Asian Championships but without any results since, Audrey Tcheuméo (C’Chartres Judo), French champion last December, imposes her power on the kumikata and on a counter following a missed shoulder movement from her Asian opponent. A minimalist yuko but enough to qualify for the next round where she will meet the Japanese Kurena Ikeda, victorious in Tokyo two months ago. Another level.
08:55. Two victories for AJA Paris XX
On mat n°1, Tieman Diaby, in +100kg beats the German Daniel Udsilauri, 22 years old and 301e world – he finished fifth in the European Championships -23 years 2025 -, on an o-uchi-gari 1’40 from the end of the fight. A yuko which proves decisive. Same movement for Clémence Émé against the Brazilian Luana Carvalho, 23 years old and fifth in the world university championships last summer, but this time for ippon!
08:40. -100kg: Checkerboard, it’s annoying
Leading by a yuko during the majority of his fight against Khuslen Munkhuu, the judoka from JC Grand-Quevilly and 2022 French junior vice-champion, Francis Damier (FLAM 91) was surprised by the uchi-mata to the left of his opponent who followed on the ground in hon-gesa-gatame. An immobilization held for nine seconds which gives a second yuko to Munkhuu, who is fighting today under the refugee flag. There were about thirty seconds left to catch up. What the winner of the Italian Open at the beginning of November 2025 will not be able to do.
08:30. -70kg: Gahié entry fall
The fight was a remake of the 2019 World Finals in Tokyo! Marie-Eve Gahié against the Portuguese Barbara Timo. A fight which ultimately turned to the advantage of the Lusitanian who won the golden score with a sankaku jime at the start of the golden score.
A fight where the impact was not there on the Habs side. A day without.
08:05. -81kg: Mattéo Giordano launches the French, two falls in -81kg
Opposed to the Moldovan Petru Pelivan, fifth in the 2025 European Championships, the judoka from RSC Montreuil Judo started his day perfectly with a morote-seoi-nage on the right counted waza-ari then finally ippon. On mat no. 3, Sacha Gigli (OJ Nice), bronze medalist at the French championships last December – like Giordano – lost against the Ukrainian Mykhailo Svidrak on a juji-gatame. Defeat on penalties for Luca Otmane (OJ Nice) against the Korean Jun Hyun Park.
08:00. Start of this second day of the Paris Grand Slam!
