Olympics: Russia Ban & Ongoing Controversy

The Winter Olympics will be broadcast in Russia. However, the Russians show little interest in it. Due to the small number of Russian athletes, who also have to compete without the flag and anthem due to sanctions.

The Olympics aside. The weather in the Russian capital favors winter sports. A generous amount of snow, sunny weather with frost attracts active athletes to Moscow’s parks and ski areas. And winter sports lovers could, in a different situation, look forward to the Olympic Games, which start in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, from the comfort of their homes or bars.

The joy of the current holiday of winter sports is not very visible in Russia. The last time the Olympics were celebrated with enthusiasm was last year at the turn of July and August, when the country commemorated the 45th anniversary of the summer games in Moscow – iconic and legendary for Russians. The 25th Winter Olympics receives less attention for obvious reasons.
