Arnaud Nordin has left 1. FSV Mainz 05 after just one year – at least temporarily. The 27-year-old offensive player will be loaned to French first division club Stade Rennes until the end of the season. There are no reports of a purchase option.

In January 2025, Nordin moved to Rheinhessen for one million euros and has since played 25 games – he did not manage to score. In the current Bundesliga season he played in 13 games, five of which were in the starting line-up. “Arnaud came to us with the desire to be loaned out to Stade Rennes in the hope of getting more playing minutes. He has the chance there to assert himself at the top level in his home country. We wish him all the best and a successful time in Rennes,” said sports director Niko Bungert

Nordin said in the French club’s announcement: “I am very proud to be moving to Stade Rennes. I can’t wait to get started and play at Roazhon Park, where I will hopefully achieve many victories for the fans. I spoke extensively with Loïc Désiré, we got along well straight away and the proposed project motivated me.” In Ligue 1, Nordin has played 198 games with 55 goals for Montpellier and St.-Étienne.
