NBA: Nicolas Batum Greets Le Mans Fans in LA

These are cool images to see. After the Clippers’ suspenseful victory against the Nuggets (115-114) on the night of Thursday to Friday, Nicolas Batum had a nice surprise in the stands.

Several supporters, who came especially from Le Mans, were present to see the French basketball player play and were able to appreciate his six points and two rebounds against the fourth in the Western Conference. One of them carried a sign with the inscription “Batum, we came from Le Mans for you” and his number 33 written at the bottom right in red next to it.

After the NBA match, the former French international, who retired from international football after the Paris Olympics, spent time with them, signing some autographs and taking photos.

A special memory for the 37-year-old man, who joined the Le Mans Sarthe Basket training center at the age of 13 before playing his first professional match at 17 in 2005 against Roanne.

“Le Mans is where I really understood what the very high level was in France. I find that there is a real identity, something coherent,” explained Nicolas Batum in comments reported by the National Basketball League website. Enough to bring back very good memories to Le Mans supporters.
