Michoacán Athletes: Road to the 2026 National Olympics

MORELIA, Mich., February 4, 2026.- It is the turn of the state selections for the sports disciplines of surfing, judo, bowling, sport climbing and roller skating, where the participation of around 200 Michoacan athletes who seek to be part of the state delegation that will fight for the medals in the Conade 2026 National Olympiad is expected.

The activities for the month of February will begin this Saturday the 7th, with the selective judo at the facilities of the Army of the Revolution Sports Center (CDER), where around 35 martial artists from the Under 15, 18, 21 and 24 categories will meet.

The following weekend (Saturday, February 14) bowling will come into action, a process in which 20 Under 16 and 21 athletes are expected at the Bol Morelia recreational center; as well as 25 Under 17, 19 and 21 athletes in sport climbing at the Stone Adventure gym.

Subsequently, skating will take place from February 20 to 22 at the Cecufid skatedrome, with more than 100 Michoacans from the Children’s, Minor Youth, Senior and Junior divisions.

The activity of the month will conclude on the 28th with the state surf filter at La Ticla beach, municipality of Aquila, on the Michoacan coast, where 30 exponents of the 12-14, 15-16 and 17-18 year categories are expected.

The Purépechas are in the fight to take over a place in the 2026 National Olympics, which will tentatively be held between the months of April and May in Puebla, Tlaxcala, Nayarit, Yucatán, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí and Jalisco.
