After two defeats in a row, the Orlando Magic won their first of four home games in a row in the North American basketball league NBA. The team led by Franz Wagner, who was still out, won against the Brooklyn Nets with 118:98.
In the Kia Center at home, Orlando showed a confident performance from the start and was already 16 points ahead at halftime. The hosts distributed the scoring burden across six shoulders, who scored in double figures – including Moritz Wagner. As usual, the German brought energy off the bench and had 14 points and five rebounds in just twelve minutes of playing time. Tristan da Silva, on the other hand, had a weaker performance with only two points, rebounds and blocks as well as one steal.
After their 26th win in their 50th game of the season, the Magic are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The place would currently mean entry into the play-in tournament for the playoffs.
Kleber wins with the Lakers
Maximilian Kleber and the Los Angeles Lakers were also able to look back on a successful evening. The team around superstar LeBron James defeated the Philadelphia 76ers on home floor with 119:115.
Man of the match for the hosts was Austin Reaves. The guard, who recently returned from a calf injury, scored an outstanding 35 points in just 25 minutes of play off the bench, hitting 12 of his 17 attempts from the field. Kleber only recorded four points, but proved his worth with four rebounds, four assists and three steals. The Lakers are currently in sixth place in the West and therefore just above the line.
