LeBron, Durant & Curry: Iconic All-Star Teams

End of suspense. We know what the three teams will look like at the 75th All Star Game on February 15 in Los Angeles. It was agreed that one of the three teams would be made up of international players, including our national Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio), his second selection, the first as a starter. The loss of Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee), injured, will be compensated by the addition of Dominican international Karl-Anthony Towns (New York). And this even if the person concerned was born in the United States.

NBA boss Adam Silver chose the American Kawhi Leonard (LA Clippers) to compensate, numerically, for the absence of the “Greek Freak”. In this international selection, we will notably find Nikola Jokic (Denver), Luka Doncic (LA Lakers) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC).

A new format

The first team made up of American players will give pride of place to old glories, with LeBron James (LA Lakers), Kevin Durant (Houston) and Stephen Curry (Golden State). More than 50 capes between them… They will be supported by boys like Kawhi, Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland) or Jalen Brunson (New York). The other American selection will include younger talents, from Devin Booker (Phoenix) to Cade Cunningham (Detroit), including Anthony Edwards (Minnesota) and Chet Holmgren (OKC).

What format for this new-look All Star Game? The three teams will face off in 12-minute matches. The teams with the best record will qualify for the final. In the event of a tie, they will be decided by the difference in points. Remember that Frenchman Alex Sarr (Washington) will be in action during the Rising Stars Challenge on February 13. Not Zaccharie Risacher (Atlanta) nor Maxime Raynaud (Sacramento).
