The boy belongs to the Viking group and has no criminal record: validation of the arrest is expected for tomorrow. Meanwhile, the condition of the 40-year-old fan remains critical, injured by a firecracker that exploded in his hand and initially suspected of throwing it at the Cremonese goalkeeper. The Minister of the Interior “has ordered a travel ban for Inter fans until 23 March 2026”
A 19-year-old ultra from the Inter squad has been arrested by Digos and accused of throwing the firecracker that stunned goalkeeper Emil Audero during Cremonese-Inter last Sunday. The Cremonese player, in the 49th minute of the match at the Zini stadium, remained on the ground for a few moments after being hit by the paper bomb. After a break in play that lasted about 3 minutes, Audero got up and started playing again. The young ultra belongs to the Viking group and was arrested, with a deferred flagrant provision, on the order of the Milan prosecutor on duty Francesco Cajani.
The arrest
The 19-year-old appears to be “part of the Inter ultras context” but, as the authorities report, he has no precedents linked to the well-known ‘double curve’ investigation by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office. The boy, defended by the lawyer Mirko Perlino, was arrested in Milan on the orders of the prosecutor on duty and the validation hearing will be held tomorrow in the Milanese prison of San Vittore. The investigating judge will have to decide, after the interrogation, on the validation and on any precautionary measure. Meanwhile, investigations by the Digos of Cremona continue to identify those responsible for “other firecracker launches carried out shortly before the start of the match”.

A hospitalized fan
The arrested boy, as the authorities make it known, is not the same Romagna fan now hospitalized and found in possession of another firecracker which exploded in his hand. The 40-year-old, from Romagna with no criminal record and belonging to the Inter club San Marino, is in critical condition and was transported from the hospital in Cremona to that in Modena. The man was suspected by investigators of being responsible for throwing the firecracker. However, the images from the stadium’s surveillance cameras revealed a different truth, leading to the identification and arrest of the 19-year-old.

Firecracker for Audero in Cremonese-Inter, the fan lost three fingers
Stop travel for Inter fans until March 23rd
“Insipid gesture, a situation that I have never experienced in many years of my career.” Thus Inter president Giuseppe Marotta condemned the throwing of the firecracker that hit the Cremonese goalkeeper, Emil Audero. “A sensational unsportsmanlike gesture, I know that the authorities are carrying out their investigations. It could be an isolated gesture.” Following the episode, the Minister of the Interior “ordered a travel ban for Inter fans until 23 March 2026, as well as a ban on the sale of tickets to residents of Lombardy for the same matches”. The provision, informs the Interior Ministry, “is aimed at guaranteeing the protection of public order and safety and preventing the recurrence of episodes that could compromise the regular running of sporting events”. The Milan-Inter match on 8 March 2026 remains excluded from the measures, considering the fact that there will be no movement of fans.
