Earlier, with a determined 68, Vedant Trivedi anchored India’s innings and led IND to 252 on a difficult pitch. Pakistan was in tight control, taking wickets frequently to limit the total and stop India from posting a big total. After a terrible start, Vihaan and Vedant stepped in and joined a 62-run partnership to stabilise the Indian innings. However, after Vihaan got out, Vedant took the onus on himself and kept the scoreboard running. He even completed his fifty and joined a study partnership with in-form Abhigyan Kundu. Later, Ali Hassan Baloch removed Kundu and gave India another blow.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s wicket caused a mini-collapse, and soon, in a span of four deliveries, India were three down. The Men in Blue were put under pressure as Ayush Mhatre and Aaron George joined him shortly after. Sooryavanshi and George were building a good opening partnership before Mohammad Sayyam struck twice in the same over. Pakistan under-19 cricket team won the toss and elected to bowl first.
