German Championships 2026: Speaker Workshop – Cloppenburg

Last weekend (January 30th to February 1st) the speakers’ workshop took place again as part of the German Championships in Cloppenburg. Unlike in previous years, when it was usually held in January, this time the workshop was directly integrated into a major event – the German Championships 2026.

Teachers and speakers from a total of twelve state associations took part: Baden-Württemberg, Berlin-Brandenburg, Hamburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland, Rhine-Hesse-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia.

The focus of the workshop was the further development of the training and further education system, both in terms of structure and, above all, in terms of content. Sports director Jakob Høi and head national coach Hannes Käsbauer accompanied the event with content-related impulses about quality on the court as well as theoretical backgrounds. In addition, the DBV education team with Michael Mai, Kathy Kale and Tobias Hofmann also played an active role.

Jakob Høi drew a positive conclusion: We took advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas together on site and now want to continue in the direction we have chosen. Energy and enthusiasm are there, and now it’s time to build the necessary quality.

A special thank you goes to all participants and instructors as well as the organizers of the German Championships, the Badminton Regional Association of Lower Saxony and TV Cloppenburg, for the successful integration of the workshop into the national season highlight.
