The French elite badminton championship awaits Gaspard Delabrosse on the weekend of February 7 and 8, 2026, in Caen. The captain of the Badminton club Kemperle (BCK) is involved in the men’s doubles.
With his teammate Martin Bellot, from the Saint-Jacques de la Lande club, Gaspard Delabrosse will experience his first elite French badminton championship. A great achievement for this player who trained at BCK from his childhood until becoming, this season, captain of the Nationale 3 team. “I will play the men’s doubles. The twenty best French pairs will be there, sixteen playing in the qualifying table to join the four best teams in the quarter-finals,” explains the almost 20-year-old badista.
Already a youth medalist
Gaspard Delabrosse will enter the competition during qualifying on Friday February 6. He teams up with Martin Bellot who is the same age as him. “We know each other well since we were together at the regional center of Dinard. Today we are in Rennes, but in two different badminton academies. We try to train together whenever possible. »
The BCK badista already has a solid track record among young people since he was a three-time bronze medalist at the French championships, in singles among cadets and in men’s doubles among cadets and juniors. “I specialized in doubles from juniors onwards. I do the national season with Martin Bellot but also international tournaments with Erwin Kehlhoffner who is also my at the + 2Bad Academy of Cesson-Sévigné. »
“Good progress”
Gaspard Delabrosse will arrive in Caen very motivated. “The level will be very high but we will have nothing to lose. We will start against a team trained at the National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance (Insep). It will be hard, but anything is possible. Reaching the quarter-finals would be a huge satisfaction. » Whatever happens, this discovery of the elite French championship will be a great experience for the badista which he intends to share with his friends from BCK.
