18-year-old comes from Borussia Mönchengladbach

Fortuna hit the transfer market again on deadline day and signed Kilian Sauck from Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 18-year-old offensive player has signed a contract until June 30, 2029 and will wear number 29 for the red-whites.

Sauck, who was born in Hamburg, initially grew up in football at HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst and FC St. Pauli before joining the “Fohlen” youth team in 2021. In recent years he has been through the youth teams up to the U23 level. He was used 16 times for them in the current Regionalliga West season. He scored two goals and prepared two more.

Sauck can operate both in the attacking midfield and on the wings. He has already played three times for the Germany U19 national team. In 2024 he was awarded the Fritz Walter Medal in silver in the U17 age group.

Sven Mislintat, Director of Sports: “With Kilian we are gaining a very young offensive player with strong abilities and great development potential. He is brave with the ball at his feet, has good dribbling speed and can use his qualities to create chances in the final third. We are happy that Kilian is joining Fortuna.”

Kilian Sauck: “It is my great desire to take the next step in my career. I am convinced that I can develop ideally here at Fortuna. I see the change as a great opportunity and will work hard to take advantage of it.”
