O Flemish won the Sampaio Corrêa 7-1 this Saturday (7), at Maracanã, for the sixth and final round of the Carioca Championship. With the result, Filipe Luís’ team takes fourth place in Group B, with seven points, and advances to the quarterfinals of the competition.
Rubro-Negro’s goals were scored by Pedro (2), Bruno Henrique (2), Samuel Lino, Everton and Douglas Telles, while Rodrigo Andrade scored for Sampaio Corrêa.
How was the game
The match at Maracanã started with moments of tension. Midfielder Alexandre, from Sampaio Corrêa, collapsed in midfield and suffered a seizure. The game was stopped for a few minutes for medical attention, and the player left the pitch in an ambulance, to applause from both fans.
At 15 minutes, Pedro opened the scoring for Flamengo. The striker received a pass from Samuel Lino at the edge of the area, advanced quickly, dribbled past Lucas Marreta and finished strongly, with no chance for goalkeeper Zé Carlos.
Two minutes later, the Sampaio Corrêa drew with Rodrigo Andradebut the goal was disallowed by VAR due to offside by Matheus Goiano at the origin of the play.
Pedro scored again in the 30th minute and expanded to Rubro-Negro. Samuel Lino infiltrated the left side and gave a light touch to the number 9, who just pushed it into the back of the goal.
Minutes before the break, the Sampaio Corrêa reduced the deficit. Guilherme threw it to Rodrigo Andrade, who dominated and covered goalkeeper Andrew, closing the first stage 2-1 for Flamengo.
In the second half, Filipe Luís’ team maintained offensive superiority. With just two minutes on the field after replacing Carrascal, Bruno Henrique scored the third goal finishing with a trivela in the corner.
O Flamengo’s fourth goal came in the 21st minute, with Samuel Linoafter a play built with Wallace Yan and Emerson Royal.
Next, Everton went free in the area and scored the fifth with a headertaking advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Zé Carlos, who passed the ball into his own goal.
Douglas Telles scored the sixth when receiving a pass from Bruno Henrique and finishing into the back of the net.
In the 41st minute, the referee awarded a penalty after Douglas Telles invaded the area and was held by Guilherme. Bruno Henrique converted the charge, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR analysis due to two touches on the ball. The referee ordered the move to be repeated, and the attacker sent it into the corner to close the score at 7-1.
