SHORT Reportedly approached by Persib Bandung, Indonesian passport goalkeeper Cyrus Margono officially joined Persija Jakarta. This confirmation was conveyed by Persija Jakarta on their Instagram social media, @persija.
“Calm hands. Sharp focus. A new protector for Persija @cmargono,” wrote @persija.

Unlike Jean Mota, who announced a six-month Persija Jakarta contract, it is not yet known how long Cyrus Margono will serve in the Kemayoran Tiger squad – Persija Jakarta’s nickname. Just for your information, at the close of the transfer market on Friday 5 February 2026, Persija Jakarta also brought in former Inter Miami player from Brazil, Jean Mota.
1. Cyrus Margono Makes Persija Jakarta Goalkeeper Competition Even Tighter
Before Cyrus Margono arrived, Persija Jakarta already had four top goalkeepers. They are Carlos Eduardo, Andritany Ardhiyasa, Hafizh Rizkianur, and Irham Nadzhofa.
This season, only Carlos Eduardo and Andritany Ardhiyasa have had minutes to appear with Persija Jakarta. Carlos Eduardo appeared 15 times in the 2025-2026 Super League and only conceded 10 times.
Meanwhile Andritany Ardhiyasa conceded four times in four Super League matches 20252-2026. Statistically, the two goalkeepers above are actually not bad.
