After three straight losses, the conditions were crystal clear for Rasmus and Isabella Wranå in mixed curling.
Victory was required in all four remaining games and Switzerland was expected to be the first to go on Saturday morning.
The Swedish pair of siblings started the match in control, but Switzerland took over and in the fourth round Sweden was badly outmatched as Switzerland took four points and went up 5–3.
Super stone in the penultimate round
But Wranås fought back immediately, took four points in the fifth round and took the lead.
After that, it was very even, with Sweden pulling the longest after a super stone that decided the match in the penultimate round.
– Look! Look! Sweden takes three points, exclaimed SVT’s commentator Niklas Nord.
With the victory, 13–7, the Swedish hope for a semi-final place and a medal is alive.
– It means a lot, to feel that we can achieve it. Now we have to bite the bullet and take one match at a time, says Isabella Wranå.
In a few hours, another tough match awaits – against Italy at 14.35.
