Cissè: Why My PSV Transfer Fell Through

Alpahdjo Cissè has in the Italian newspaper The Republic responded to his collapsed deal with PSV. The attacking midfielder gives a clear reason why he chose AC Milan over the Eindhoven team.

The story surrounding Cissè’s transfer is now known. The nineteen-year-old Italian midfielder was ready to move to Eindhoven, but at the last minute AC Milan also showed interest. Cissè turned 180 degrees and flew to Milan to complete the transfer. AC Milan presented the Italian before the deadline and PSV were left empty-handed.

In The Republic Cissè now shares his side of the story. He explains why he canceled the transfer with PSV, because he also confirms that the deal ‘was already completed’. “Milan suddenly came along and I had no doubts. That was also because they let me stay with Catanzaro for another six months.” Cissè was bought by Milan from Catanzaro and then immediately rented to that club for six months. Something he apparently attached great importance to.

Cissè also shared more about his ambitions that he hopes to achieve at Milan. “I want to play for the Italian national team one day,” says the Treviso-born midfielder. Cissé has signed a contract with Milan until the summer of 2030.
