Already qualified for the quarterfinals, Botafogo should use a practically under-20 team against the Vasco this Sunday, but listed seven players from the main squad. This fact is not enough for the club to comply with the regulations, informed the Ferj ao “GE”.
According to “Lance!”, only seven athletes from the professional squad were listed: Alex Telles, Alexander Barboza, Allan, Bastos, Léo Linck, Raul and Vitinho. However, only Léo Linck and Bastos should start playing, with the rest remaining on the bench.
In contact with “GE”, the Federation stated that the recommendation is that teams “present themselves with a team formed with a minimum of seven of their main athletes, recognized and known to be part of the squad” from the third round onwards, under penalty of losing the TV quota and/or fine.
The choice of coach Martín Anselmi is due to the sequence of games in the Brazilian Championship, absences due to injury and also because he could not count on reinforcements who could not be registered due to the transfer ban, such as defender Ythallo and striker Lucas Villalba.
Botafogo’s probable lineup for this Sunday’s classic, in São Januário, includes Léo Linck; Bastos, Kauã Branco (Alexander Barboza) and Justino; Kadu, Marquinhos, Bernardo Valim and Gabriel Abdias; Caio Valle, Kadir and Kauan Toledo.
