Balthazar Pierret: Red Star’s 16-Year-Old Prodigy

Balthazar Pierret had a childhood and then an adolescence like no other. Son of a diplomat, the Red Star defensive midfielder, who arrived during the winter transfer window from Lecce (Serie A), has, in fact, the distinction of having lived in five European capitals before he came of age.

Born in Cormeilles-en-Parisis (Val-d’Oise), he lived the first six months of his life in Prague (Czech Republic) then stayed in Budapest (Hungary) for 2 to 4 years before going to Ankara (Turkey), Bucharest (Romania) and Warsaw (Poland). His father Stanislas is a specialist in Central and Eastern Europe who devoted more than thirty years of career to the Quai d’Orsay, serving cultural and educational cooperation. Balthazar Pierret, 25 years old today, followed his father’s wanderings throughout his youth.
